Unusual and Original 1930's Art Deco Bar
Item #2008 SOLD
A wonderful and completely original Art Deco Bar. Unbelievable original condition and very unique. We have cleaned it thoroughly, waxed all surfaces and slightly touched up the red paint in a few spots. The bar breaks down into two pieces and is held together in the middle with metal clips and hooks. It was purchased in Los Angles and was bought from the daughter of a cyclist who participated in the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics.
He must have had some pretty fun parties after those long training rides. Great brass top and brass rails, very strong, sturdy and the metal all polished up quite nice as you can see from the photos. Lots of storage in the back with towel holders and also small drawer. Has a very unique color, sort of muted or light canary yellow with bright Chinese fire-engine red and flashes of taupe/brown in a few small details as well. Overall condition is excellent for its age with few signs of minor wear. The size is great and one could certainly build a room around the fun horseshoe shape. I would not do a thing to it, but install if for about another 75 years of fun.
