René Coquery for Thonet French Art Deco Tubular Chrome Armchair Pair
French Art Deco tubular chrome armchair with black leather upholstered seat and back cushion, designed by R.C. COQUERY for THONET, Model #B 256 lounge chair, 1929-1930. Very rare French Bauhaus era lounge chairs, the tilted frame is made of bent, welded, and chromed tubular steel. The very comfortable deep sprung-upholstered seat and backrest are covered in the original leather. Solid tubular chromed steel construction throughout. Very rare to have a pair in good original condition with original wood arm rests. Extremely heavy from the period and original in every way.
