These exceptional side chairs were custom-made exclusively for ArtDecoCollection.com—the first and original website dedicated to Art Deco furniture. Inspired by one of the rarest known Kem Weber chair designs, these pieces bring a legendary vision into reality. I’ve only ever encountered these chairs in historical photos, and have long dreamt of owning a pair. Now, they exist—reproduced with integrity and intention.

Each chair showcases Weber’s iconic stair-stepped silhouette, elevated by advanced modernist lines. The solid wood frames are treated in rich walnut wood, perfectly offset by black pigskin leather seats.  Opaque white linear accents punctuate the design, adding an architectural rhythm to the composition.

Beyond their visual appeal, these chairs offer a surprisingly ergonomic experience—the stepped armrests land exactly where they should, making them as comfortable as they are striking.

We currently have two pairs available. Don’t miss the opportunity to own a rare, reimagined piece of design history. Priced per pair.

About Kem Weber (1889–1963):
Kem Weber was born Karl Emanuel Martin in Berlin in 1889 and studied in the School of Decorative Arts. After working on the German Pavilion at the 1910 Exposition Universelle in Brussels he was assigned to work in San Francisco to supervise the building of the German Pavilion at the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition. He was unable to return home due to developments in World War I so he stayed and made his home and career in California. He worked in Santa Barbara designing buildings and then on to Los Angeles to pursue interior and industrial design.  He became a citizen in 1924 and took the first three initials of his name to create something that sounded more "American".
