Important French China Vitrine cabinet by Michel Dufet

Item #1865

Fresh from a most recent French auction, with a Fresh newly refinished on all surfaces. This stunning Modernist style vitrine cabinet has all the earmarks of an important design. Nice two tone burled woods, intersecting colors with this soft and curvy details. The upper part is the glass vitrine with shelve and the lower area has two beautifully matched wood doors and original handles. Would be stunning in a dining room or office.

We have a beautiful desk by the same designer which would go great with this, check it out  here:

Was a French architect and designer. Very important and who work we do not see often.  He is better known for designing furniture and decorating luxury yachts and cruise ships such as the “Foch,” “Normandy” and “Ile de France.” His work was widely exposed in the early 20th century: “Salon d’Automne” in 1926, “Exposition Coloniale” in 1931, “Exposition Internationale” in 1937. In 1929 the French sculptor Bourdelle chose him as the architect to design his own museum. Subsequently Dufet devoted an important part of his time to the promotion of Bourdelle
