1949 Mills Black Beauty 25¢ Slot Machine Rare Art Deco Casino Collectible

This 1949 Mills Black Beauty slot machine, manufactured by the iconic Mills Novelty Company, is a standout example of mid-century American gaming design. Designed to operate on 25-cent coins, this mechanical one-armed bandit features the iconic “Black Beauty” style case with gleaming chrome detailing, a deep black lacquer finish, and bold yellow accenting on the front grille. The streamlined casing reflects classic Art Deco styling, with ribbed metal accents and symmetrical curves reminiscent of postwar industrial design.

The front showcases a three-reel mechanical window framed in ivory enamel and chrome, complete with vivid fruit symbols, bells, and the classic payout schedule panel below. A rare color variant, this machine is especially desirable for its clean cosmetic presentation, untouched payout guide, and period-correct jackpot coin reserve.

The machine also includes a working coin viewer and the original red-handled pull lever. While originally designed for casino and arcade use, it remains fully functional and has been preserved in excellent vintage condition.

Whether you're a seasoned collector of antique coin-operated machines or simply an enthusiast of vintage Americana, this Mills Black Beauty slot machine offers both historical significance and display-worthy charm. It's a bold and authentic piece of casino history that captures the era's style and craftsmanship. These Mills machines have been offered for as much as $5900, the value is here, missing the key to open the back but they are readily available.
