Georges Darel Silver-Plated Indian Head Car Mascot, France, c. 1930s

A striking and highly stylized silver-plated car mascot depicting a Mohican Native American Indian warrior, signed by Swiss sculptor Georges Darel (1892–1943). This French-made automobile mascot exemplifies the bold, aerodynamic elegance of early 20th-century design, with a deeply chiseled bronze profile and a sweeping, feathered headdress that evokes motion and modernity.

The mascot is mounted on a tiered black and chrome base, featuring the artist’s signature, “DAREL,” prominently engraved on the collar. This piece reflects the spirit of the interwar period, when automobile mascots served not only as functional radiator caps but as dynamic expressions of identity, speed, and craftsmanship.

A rare and beautifully preserved example, ideal for collectors of automotive history, Art Deco design, or fine metalwork.
