Item # 2740 SOLD
Measurements
H 14.2". x W 26.8" x D 8.2" in.

Large French very high-quality Bronze figural group of a lady and Borzoi dog. The piece is quite impressive, the woman stares out into the world as the dog stares at the woman? The details in the piece are great, very deep bronze work and lots of fine details. Take special note of the hair, fingers, and the look of love on the dog’s face. The sculpture is signed Coste, marked with the Susse Freres Foundry seal. Cast in the lost wax technique Cire perdue. Beautiful rich brown patina, France, 1930.

Georges Coste was an early 20th-century French sculptor, born in Romans in the late 19th century. He was a student of Boucher and exhibited figures and busts at Le Salon des Artistes, and was a winner of a third-class medal in 1925!
