This sleek art deco bronze panther is the embodiment of all those ideals of the era: speed, strength, richness, perfection! Heavy to lift, but smooth to the touch with a lush patina, a great signature and an expressive face!
At first glance, it is reminiscent of a Rembrandt Bugatti bronze but this is the work of Sculptor Maurice Lebeau (1885-1961) who created Bronze busts and sculptures in Paris that were produced by the J.Lamy Foundry.
The quality of this statue is superb and deserves to be displayed in a place of honor...perhaps your home is just that place?
