Item # 2322 SOLD
Measurements
21" W x 15" T x 5" W

An Art Deco Bronze sculpture by Georges Gori, depicting a man on a base that hints that it is a boat and he is pushing against a tiller to work  the rudder against the power of the sea.  There is exceptional detail in his face, hands and the musculature of his body. It is truly a beautifully executed piece .

Georges Gori is of Italian descent but lived and worked in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes in 1929, and won a bronze medal for his artistic contributions in 1931.

This statue has a wonderful patina with overtones of gold and green and the condition is excellent. A clear signature of G.Gori appears in the base.
