Art Deco Bronze Panther by Secondo
Item # 2219 SOLD
Measurements
27" wide
9.5" tall
6" deep
This art deco bronze crouching panther is ready to lunge forth in all it's glory. The jungle cats were an important motif in the deco era as the sylphlike nude female sculptures... and in perfect contrast, as these masculine symbols are rendered with strength and even anger in their posture and on their faces.
This panther, created in France, circa 1930 by Secondo and bearing an excellent signature is finished with patina green. It is a wonderful example of this icon of the modernist sculptors' passion for lions, tigers, jaguars and panthers!
A base of nicely veined green marble completes the piece.
