There are people that love watching shows like Poirot, Downton Abbey and Boardwalk Empire just to see the costumes, sets and props. And with good reason! Film and television production companies have finally been devoting big budgets and much talent to putting things together that are “period perfect” so you can imagine how delighted we were to get the call from the Set Designers of Boardwalk Empire as they hunted for furniture and fixtures for Season Three, Four and Five!
The glamorous “Onyx Club” where the richness of the jazz age comes to life is one of the great episodes to watch. In one memorable scene they even talk about the “sconces custom made in Paris” and we are proud to say they came from ArtDecoCollection.com !
Of course, some of the furniture we were able to provide for Boardwalk Empire was in “original condition” and in need of re-upholsetery and you can imagine what a great team of artisans they have employed to restore and transform their set pieces. Here are two settees you can watch for in Season Five and Six before they “worked their magic” to bring them back to their 1920’s glory:
