Rare French Art Deco Sabino Chandelier

Item #2051 SOLD

One of my favorite French Art Deco moulded art glass. The glass is signed Sabino, sometimes referred to as the “waterfall” design. It typifies that great period of French design inspired by the Paris Exhibition of 1925. Officially entitled the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, it was dedicated to the display of modern decorative arts.

The glass is in perfect condition with original mounts and canopy, newly re-silvered. A stunning Art Deco chain, allowing some adjustment in the length as well. I love this glass and it certainly shows that great period when Sabino was doing some of his most original designs, showing the transition from curve to linear. His work at that time rivaled any French lighting and glass designer of the period. I have seen this glass in a much smaller model used as a shade for a table lamp, but never this hanging size.

The lamp can be hung 16-26″ drop, the glass is 8″ x 8″ at the widest point and
11.5″ Long.
