Bendix 526C Catalin Radio in Bright Jadeite Green w/ Intense Marbleizing Bluetooth

Item #3220 SOLD

The Bendix 526C Catalin radio in a fantastic highly marbleized jadeite green with bluish-turquoise tones and black Catalin. This Art Deco Bendix Tube Radio was made circa 1946 and is extremely stylish with the marbleized green cabinet and contrasting black front, a color combination only found on this model Catalin radio. The contrasting black Catalin front brings the green and bluish tones alive.

This model radio incorporates both a unique design and construction. The swirled green Catalin top plus sides are molded into one U-shaped piece that fits down over the black Catalin piece which forms the front and base of the radio The two rounded corner pieces that bolt onto either side of the dial are a unique feature unlike anything found on any other radio. Radio is in beautiful original condition and retains a beautiful natural gloss that shows off the vivid marbleized color. Cabinet and trim are in very perfect original condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns, or repairs. The radio retains its original matching knobs.

The chassis has been service and 1/8th input jack added which will allow you to use this with your iPhone, smartphone, iPods, or record player. Access your old vinyl, or tune into Pandora, Apple Music, or the playlist on your computer to provide the tunes and use the Bluetooth connection to bring the warm, bright, analog sound of a tube amplifier to any music or recordings you choose. The quality of the sound is excellent – just ask any guitarist since these kinds of tube-based amps are still being made and used today. You will have the best of “digital” and “analog” combined.
