Lackner Neon Glo Art Deco Marbled Brown Catalin Glass Bakelite Clock

Item #3126 SOLD

Lackner Neon Glo Art Deco Marbled Brown Catalin Glass Bakelite Clock. This clock was made in the 1930s and is one of the more very unusual versions of the Lackner Neon Glo clocks. The sandblasted wings etched with a beautiful sailboat on the ocean, sometimes referred to as the Nassau side glass model.

The clock is in working order and keeps accurate time, it has the original movement, neon, and transformer. This clock retains a beautiful natural original gloss to the cabinet and is highly marbelized brown bakelite with no cracks, burns, or repairs.  Nice horizontal banding on the stepped base which matches the additional horizontal banding on the center of the clock. It has a simple tumb switch to change the time on the back and easily operates with a simple on/off toggle switch to turn the neon light on/off. These clocks were originally made in Cincinnati as the back brass tag indicates all the authenticity and origin of this unique clock. Perfect for a small mantle, next to the bed, or a perfect desk clock. True to the Art Deco period.
