CERAMIC SCULPTURE BY PAULE PETITJEAN

Item #768 SOLD

This 1929 glazed eartenware ( or faience stannifere) bust has the styling of those ceramics created in the Wiener Werkstatte tradition. But this is a French piece, illustrated and described in the magazine Art et Decoration of 1929 . Mlle Petitjean did whimsical, colorful pottery and sculpture often with motifs of animals, women, mermaids and mythological figurines.
