This statue measures 8.5" W x 11" T (base-6.5" x 6.5").
This is a lovely sculpture of a woman, made in Belgium in the 1930's, and cast in bronze with a green marble base. Although petite in size this statue has a great presence. Although the artist, Canneel, was classically trained his style gradually moved toward expressionism. He was known for doing sculptures on a larger scale, along with ornamentation on public buildings in Belgium.
