Stunning cold painted Art Deco bronze statue depicting an elegant standing woman with two Borzoi dogs. French production by Louis Riche of superb quality and condition mounted on Portoro marble. There is a signature  on the base -L. Riche, an  artist famous for his work in  Art Deco style. This piece has all the earmarks of sophistication, attitude and style. A rare piece in amazing original condition with its subtle coloration completely in tact.

Louis Riche (1877 – 1949)

Born in Paris, his first exhibit at the Salon de Paris was in 1896 at the age of nineteen. Riche sculpted many animal subjects but his favorite models were German Shepherd Dogs at which he is considered the master at reproducing. He continued exhibiting at the Salon and except for the interruptions of both World Wars he continued to create his artistic subjects.  He worked mostly with the Thiebault Freres foundry for the casting of his models .
