This fun animated style original cubist painting is by Vilhelm Lundstrom. The subject is a rather modernist styled robot (with gloves). This original Cubist Painting by Vilhelm Lundstrom, made from gouache and tempura with lots of nice background brush detail was executed in the 1930′s by one of Denmark’s most successful modernist painters. It was he who introduced French Cubism to Denmark. The painting is signed “VL” in lower right corner. Painting has been re-framed to museum standards.
Vilhelm Lundstrøm was one of Denmark’s most successful modernist painters. It was he who introduced French cubism to Denmark. He was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Art where he studied under Rostrup Böyesen. Wikipedia Born: 1893 Died: 1950
