Sterling Silver Tea and Coffee Set by Delheid Freres

This classic  sterling silver Art Deco tea and coffee  set with its marvelous silver trimmed tray would be a notable addition to any collection and a useful one at that. The condition is excellent – inside and out- and it has wonderful style and shape with its faceted design, and scalloped edged wooden and silver tray.

The maker’s mark is that of the Delheid Freres which is one of the most important workshops in Brussels. During the Deco Era they were the largest producers of sterling silver flatware in Belgium and their pieces were offered in the most prestigious jewelry , housewares and  silver shops.

Delheid Freres also was renown for creating  interesting objects with high, artistic quality, often combining  sterling silver with rare woods (mostly from the Belgian Congo).They adopted mechanized techniques , clean lines and attention to detail  that made their goods popular and enduring.
