Art Deco Woman with Swans signed Limousin

Limousin signed Art Deco sculpture of a woman running with swans employs many unique details. Unlike many of the nudes of the period, her diaphanous clothing shows her form and also provides the fabric that supports her dynamic posture in movement. We can imagine the birds taking flight, and perhaps she, too will fly along with them!

The marble base is most unusual. A mosaic of many colors of marble, with variety in the bases that uphold the swans and the woman as she runs.

This piece, created in France in the late 1920s has lovely features and details and a rich, original green  patina.
